The route begins near the fishing port, within the cove known as Cala el Racó to be precise, at the foot of the impressive Peñón de Ifach rock.

The Princesa de Asturias environmental promenade is a wide pedestrian promenade ideal for walking with children. Together with your children you can discover beautiful views of the Oltà mountain range, Serra Gelada, Puig Campana and Bèrnia.

The entrance is marked by a sign and, after this first indication, continue along the route close to the walls of the Peñón de Ifach natural park. After about 10 minutes, you get to an area equipped with a heliport, close to where the walk ends and where you can let yourselves be seduced by the views of the Mediterranean.

The Peñón de Ifach rock, symbol of the Costa Blanca coastline, is a huge calcareous rock of about 50,000 m2 that rises up to 332 metres above sea level. It is linked to the land by a narrow isthmus, produced by a geological slide from the neighbouring Oltà mountain range.

The famous phrase “Fire on Ifach, Moors on the coast” was a war cry, a warning shouted by the lookout of the Peñon to the residents of Calp in 1744, when five Tunisian ships landed on the coast. This phrase has been transmitted from parents to children since then, and also has its moment each year during the festivities of the municipality.
