There is a limit of 300 visits per day, which is in force every day of the year, to make this route you have to make an appointment HERE. This route begins inside the natural park, at the Visitor Information Centre, because you have to go through a turnstile that counts the number of people who enter.

After going past the turnstile, walk along the path which zigzags up the north face of this massive limestone outcrop, until reaching the tunnel that leads to the east face. The first stop to be made is at the viewpoint looking westwards, called Mirador de Ponent, from where it is possible get a first panoramic view of the coast and where you can see the remains of an old medieval wall which was built in order to defend the town of Ifac. From this point, the route takes you to the second stop where there are the remains of an Iberian settlement, currently hidden under the vegetation. Following the path, go towards the fallen pine trees and the rest area, where you can stop to rest and listen to the sounds of the different species of birds that inhabit the Penyal depending on what time of the year you are walking along this route.

From the rest area, carry on towards the viewpoint known as Mirador del Botànic Cavanilles, where you can see the first information panel marking one of the two micro-reserves of flora existing within this natural park. From here, follow the path that leads to the tunnel, built in 1918 by one of the many owners that the Penyal has had over the past centuries. This tunnel permits you to gain access to the other side of the mountain. Starting from when you enter the tunnel, the path becomes especially dangerous due to its narrowness in some sections, due to the danger of the route and due to the slippery surfaces that you may come across.

Once out of the tunnel, the path takes you to the Carabiners viewpoint, which was an old police surveillance platform where you can rest and enjoy the spectacular views of the sea. From here, the last section of the route remains, taking you up to the summit which is a third-order geodesic vertex and from where you can admire the most impressive views of the entire route.
