Teulada Moraira
The Cap d'Or tower dates from the 16th century and is 165 metres high. This tower is part of a set of watchtowers that were constructed along the entire Mediterranean coast. They were built in ancient times so as to defend the area against the attacks of the Barbary pirates.
The route starts in the Portet de Moraira car park. From here, begin to walk paying attention to the signs that tell you where you should go.
The first stage of the route goes through an urban area, with villas and other types of houses. Later, leave the asphalt path and walk until you come across some signs that indicate the direction to follow. You can see a sign that says that there are 800 m left until the tower.
From here it starts to become more of a mountain path, where there are slippery rocks and so you must be careful. Continue walking and you soon come across the detour that leads to the cave known as cova de la Cendra.
Keep going along the path that you were already on and soon you start to ascend gently. After a short while you reach the tower, from where you can enjoy wonderful views of distant Ibiza, while on the other side you can see the Ifac promontory, the mountain range called Serra de Bèrnia and other landscape features.
