Former stately home owned by the Torres-Sala family, of great social and political influence in the city. It dates from the 18th century with the inner courtyard retaining a considerable stretch of the original town wall, now declared a site of cultural interest.
The building houses the public library, the assembly hall, the municipal historical archive, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Ethnological Rice Museum, the Juan Torres Sala Entomological Collection and a display of traditional musical instruments.
Opening hours are:
- Casa de Cultura (House of Culture) and museums: Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 1:30pm and from 5pm to 8pm.
- Library: Monday to Friday from 9am to 1:30pm and from 5pm to 8pm. In summer: Monday to Friday from 8am to 2pm.
