La Vall d’Alcalà
“Benixarcos or Rafalet de Benixarcos, and according to a 1274 register, Rahal Abinçarco, which means, rahal/pen of the Zarco family, is the name that makes it related to the aristocratic family of La Vall, the Al-Azraq family, the only one that rose up against the Aragonese conquest. Its morphology is very simple when compared to the other abandoned villages: one block with two adjacent lots.” (1)
