La Vall d’Alcalà
This circular route is 9.7 km long.
The trail starts by leaving Alcalà de la Jovada along the Corral de Andón path. Continue advancing and going through several crossroads until you reach the ruins of the corral.
At this point, the route leads you along a dirt track where, at a given moment, you come across the path that takes you up to the crest of La Vall de Gallinera.
Start your ascent on the left and, after passing across several hills, you arrive at Tossal de la Creu, which stands at almost 903 metres above sea level. From here, you can appreciate the wonderful views of the castle's surroundings.
Go down a bit to reach the castle's crossroads and soon enough you can see, in front of you, the hill known as El Xarpolar, where there used to be an Iberian settlement. Continue descending along a path that is a little unclear at times, until you reach a track that takes you, to the left, towards the terraced field's source.
Cross the ravine and go through the forest so as to finally reach the path that leads you to the Moorish settlement of La Roca. From here, you only have to take the road in order to return to the route's starting point.
