La Vall d’Alcalà
This linear route is 4.3 km long and takes 2 hours to complete.
The walk starts by leaving the village of Beniaia. From here, go towards the village spring, which also has a washing place.
Just before reaching this point, there is a path that takes you directly to the Moorish town of La Queirola, famous due to the fact that it used to be under the control of Al-Azraq, the Moorish leader. In 1609 it was left uninhabited after the expulsion of the Moors and the houses became corrals.
Pass by La Queirola and continue along a path that has beautiful views of the Serra de la Foradada mountain range and Benicadell.
Just before getting to the ravine, you can deviate a few metres to the left to be able to appreciate a general view of Racó del Condoig.
During the last part of the route, inside the ravine, keep your eyes wide open since there is a lot of flora around, which you must be careful not to damage. When you get to the base of the walls of the ravine, there is a small pool of water. In this area you can see various species of plants, among which the hart's-tongue fern stands out.
Return to the starting point in Beniaia along the same path that you took on the way out.
