While walking along this route, you can enjoy the beauty of a place where the sea and the mountains meet, with spectacular views of the cliffs, the valley and the bay.
The route begins at the parking lot of the cove known locally as Cala de la Granadella. You begin the ascent a few metres to the left, by way of a paved track. Following the indications, you come across a cavity covered with vegetation that corresponds to an old ocher mine that was exploited at the end of the 19th century.
A few metres further on, you can get a clear view of Punta d'Ambolo and the island called Illa del Descobridor.
Next, descend towards the ravine known as Barranc de la Xapa, after which you can see the ruins of a defensive tower dating back to the 17th century (the Castle of Granadella).
From the castle you start to climb a wide ridge that goes along the cliffs to the viewpoint known as Mirador de Llevant. Follow the signs and a little further on you pass a paved track on the right that goes up to the track along which you continue walking a few metres further on, until you see the junction for the Teuleria variant (from this point, if you want to shorten the route, you can return to Cala de la Granadella by walking less than 2 km). Continuing along the track, 400 metres further on there is a second crossroad where the Gurugú variant can be taken (so as to also return to Cala de la Granadella, walking about 3 km).
Keep going along the track until you come to a chain and then continue along the track to the right and, 200 metres further on, you have to leave it and take a path that leads you downwards to cross the ravine known as Barranc del Martorell. Once you get to the other side of the ravine, a small ascent begins, leading you past Teuleria de Dalt, and a little further on you come out onto Camí de l'Esteperal or the second firewall. Upon reaching this point, turn right towards the Lloma Aspra viewpoint and, once at the overlook, you can take a seat on the bench so as to rest and enjoy the views towards Granadella. Continue along the track and go down to the ravine called Barranc de l'Orxella. Cross it and go up to the other side of the ravine where you have to take a new track. When you get there, turn right and a little further on the indications lead you to take a secondary track to the left.
Along this section of the route, which goes to the viewpoint known as Mirador de la Granadella, you have the chance to enjoy magnificent views of the bay of Xàbia, Cap de Sant Antoni, La Plana and Montgó.
Once you reach the viewpoint, you can relish the good views of Granadella and you can take a look at a small marquee which depicts the itinerary you are doing.
Begin the descent along a path that soon leads you onto another track. Continue along this track and, after a small but steep climb, you come back out onto the main track. Turn left, continue walking for a few hundred metres more and then leave the main track so as to take another secondary track to the left (a little further on, after passing next to some animal feeders). The path becomes unclear and then clear again in various moments, but the markers guide you to a pylon from where you then go down to the ravine that takes you back to the cove's parking lot.
