The Serra de la Solana mountain range, also known as Lloma Llarga, is a natural wall that extends from Marnes to La Vall de Pop. The name of the mountain range refers to the fact that the eastern face, which is the most visible side, is exposed to the sun and is therefore a somewhat arid slope whereas the face that remains hidden is a wetter slope full of vegetation.

This route begins in the square called Plaça Rei Jaume I, in Benissa. Walk through the town along the street known as Carrer Sant Nicolau, passing next to the street where the market is and arriving at the convent, which you have to skirt around.

Next, in front of the Colorins children's education centre, turn right and take Camí Vell de Xaló. Following this rural road, you pass through two tunnels and, after walking a few more metres, you have to take the path on the left.

Continue walking straight on until you cross the road, passing next to some containers, and then continue along Camí de l'Aigüera until you get to Camí de la Teulera, where you have to turn right in order to take this road. Keep going until the asphalt becomes a dirt track and then go left at the first turn you come across.

At the end of the track you get to Camí de la Solana, which leads you to the Benissa shooting range, from where the ascent across the mountainside begins.

Shortly before completing the first kilometre, you can see some stairs to the right which you have to climb up and then start walking along a path that takes you to the livestock pen known as Corral del Cau.
After climbing Tossalet del Castellet, where you can enjoy some impressive views of the mountain range known as Serra de Bèrnia, retrace your steps and set out along the path that goes between vineyards and almond trees, crossing the Marnes area, which was the name of one of the ancient farmhouses that remained abandoned after the expulsion of the Moors.

The route ends at Cases de Bèrnia, after passing through the Xaló camping area.
