The route called Camí de Pedra i Aigua is a trail that connects the towns and villages that make up the grouping of municipalities of La Vall de Pop: Benissa, Senija, Llíber, Xaló, Alcalalí, Parcent, Murla and Benigembla. This trail follows the course of the River Xaló (the backbone of La Vall de Pop) during almost the entire route and allows you to discover the importance of its ethnological heritage, intimately intertwined with the agricultural and rural architecture to be found in the area.

It is a fairly easy and linear path, 19.5 km long. The first section goes from Benissa to Senija and is a pleasant walk along rural roads that run between fields with views of the imposing Serra de Bèrnia mountain range and Muntanya Llarga, a mountain also known as Solana de Benissa. Once you get to Senija, follow the path that goes along ancient non-irrigated crop fields, where you can see good examples of terraced fields built using the typical local construction technique called “pedra en sec” (known as “dry stone” in English) which consists of creating stone walls without using any type of mortar. Keep walking until you reach the plain known as Pla de Llíber, which is a valley where vineyards are still cultivated and where you can see the typical constructions called “riuraus” that were used to dry grapes so as to produce raisins. Leave Llíber behind you and continue the journey along the Xaló riverbed, where you can see the ruins of the mill known as Molí Giner (dated from the 14th or 15th century), the Ethnological Museum and the Tourist Office of La Vall de Pop. Upon arrival in Xaló, continue along the next section of the route, enjoying the beauty of the landscape and the so-called stone and water paths. Soon, located next to some ponds, you come across another mill, called Molí de la Tarafa, and then you reach Alcalalí. Continue through an area of crops where terraces full of almond trees predominate, until you reach Parcent, which is the next town you visit during this route. Cross the town square until you reach the washing place and then continue towards Murla. When you exit Parcent you come across an interesting viewpoint, from where you can see the mountain known as Cavall Verd or Penyó de Laguar and the wall of the Fontilles sanatorium. Upon reaching Murla, continue towards the last town, Benigembla, descending along the riverbed and enjoying the nature and fauna of this section of the trail.
