The Ethnological Museum of La Vall d'Ebo, located in an old house on the avenue known as Avenida de La Marina Alta, exhibits a collection of tools and curiosities donated by the residents of the municipality. By looking at these objects it is possible to recreate in one’s imagination the life of the ancestors of the people of this municipality: the austerity of the kitchenware which shows that they had a simple diet, the rudimentary cultivation tools with which the fruit of hard work was extracted from the earth, the furniture, the clothing, the ornaments, etc.
On the third floor of the museum is La Vall d'Ebo’s Rock Art Interpretation Center, which offers reproductions and facsimiles of all the rock engravings and paintings of the municipality’s area (which were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998), and explanations by way of showcases and panels with 3D photographs.
When visiting this museum, one enters into another era due to the fact that each and every one of the objects on display was used by someone at some point in the life and history of La Vall d'Ebo. The first two floors are dedicated to the recreation of a typical townhouse and the third floor concentrates on the rock art present in the municipality. (1)
