“These constructions are two flour mills built with stones from the same hillock, lime mortar and pumice ashlars, according to the inscription on one of them, dated 1839. The mills had a conical wooden roof where the blades were installed, that were covered with cloth. The entire cover rotated to orient the blades towards the wind.
Both buildings were abandoned at the beginning of the 20th century. The cultivation of wheat had declined in the area; moreover, the arrival of electricity made it possible to stop depending on the wind so that the mills could be located in more accessible places.
There is a two-kilometre circular route, called La Ruta dels Molins, which allows people to visit the mills and discover how they worked thanks to the information panels that have been installed.” (1)
