Sanet i els Negrals
The building known as Palauet dels Senyors de Merita or Palau de La Senyoria is located in the centre of Els Negrals. It was built in the 18th century and remodelled in the academic style during the 19th century.
It is a two-storey building with a chamber. The heraldic coats of arms of its owners have been preserved near the corners of the edifice. The cut stone ledges stand out as a feature, along with the staircase located in the exterior courtyard. Next to the northeastern and western sides, the footpath preserves the traditional rustic stonework. On one side a belltower can be seen, now serving as an oratory which was previously used as a defence tower and a chapel presided over by the image of Crist de L’Agonia (18th century).
In the basement of the palace is where the grain from the harvests used to be stored. Wide corridors, rooms with wooden floors and ceilings, a weapons room, a library and marble staircases are some of the features that make this building an emblematic place of great heritage value.
