Pedreguer
This variant starts from the Miqueles-Ombrereta area, which is accessed by way of the local road CV-720, at kilometre 7.6, in front of the main entrance of the La Solana urbanisation. In this area there is the aqueduct which was built between 1879 and 1887 that, by way of a canal, supplies the municipal drinking water tank of Pedreguer. You can also see the so-called Coveta de les Miqueles, a place where generations of children from the village played games and which is now only visited by hikers. Variant IV coincides initially with the main path and so from Ombrereta you have to take the path heading south towards the mountain. Continue along the path until you reach a deviation to your left that indicates the ascent to Castellet de l'Ocaive and where you leave the main path. When you reach the top you can see the link with variant III. Continue straight on in the direction you were going and little by little go around Castellet de l'Ocaive, which can already be seen perfectly in the background. After this turn in the path, you can see a detour to the left marked as Pouet. Follow the trail until you find the path that gives you access to the castle. Once at the castle and after having enjoyed the views of the landscape that this place has to offers, return to the starting point of the ascent. Continue the descent until you are in front of the Castellet cave, where the link to the main route of the PR-CV 53 trail is located and where this variant ends.
