This route is linear and has a one-way length of 5.5 km. It takes 1 hour 50 minutes to complete it on foot and 35 minutes by bike.
The origin of the name of this cave comes from the word “gamelló”, a wooden container that is used to feed goats and sheep.
The starting point of the route is the hermitage of Pare Pere and, from here, you have to walk along the path known as Camí de la Colònia, until reaching a fork in the path where you have to take the trail on the left and follow the indications that take you to the cave known as Cova del Gamell.
This is a low difficulty route, with good markers and well-kept trails. Along the way, it is possible to observe the old agricultural colony of Montgó, which was an attempt to revive the economy after the raisin industry ceased to exist in Dénia. Throughout this route you can enjoy wonderful views of the Gulf of Valencia.
