This hermitage is located on the estate of Casa Santonja, situated between Beniarbeig and El Verger.
The estate is made up of a group of buildings constructed between the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century in the neo-Gothic style, which was predominant at the time.
Among the outbuildings, located on the same side as the tower, there is a chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Conception.
The main facade is crowned by a stone belfry with a bell, cross and adornments at each end. The side entrance to the chapel is formed by a Gothic doorway with multiple archivolts, lined by fine pinnacles and topped with an oculus.
On entering the chapel, the entire surface of the opposing wall is occupied by a neo-Gothic altarpiece with a profusion of gilding and a flamboyant feel, through which one can access the sacristy from both sides of the altar. Above the tabernacle, an image of the Immaculate Conception presides in a niche, and on each side of the altar there are carvings of El Sagrat Cor de Jesús and Sant Josep amb El Xiquet. (1) (2)
