Castell de Castells
This fourth stage of the trail known as GR 330 Costa Blanca Interior connects Castell de Castells with Confrides through the Serra de la Serrella mountain range, which is the border between the regions of Marina Alta, Comtat and Marina Baixa.
The route begins with an ascent towards the mountain pass known as Coll del Castellet until you reach the Castellet rock, where you can see the remains of the Castle of Aljofra, an ancient fortification initially constructed by the Muslims. In addition, from this point you can enjoy some magnificent views of the valley known as La Vall de Guadalest and the Barranc de la Canal ravine.
The next section of the route leads you through the ravine called Barranc de la Canal, with its flood of scents such as rosemary, thyme, sage or chamomile, until the highest point of Mallada del Llop.
Continue advancing towards the mountain pass known as Coll de Borrell and then turn to go towards the hill called Recincle de la Finestra or Penya d'Àfrica. Once back on the route again, walk through a pine forest until the mountain pass called Pas del Comptador, from where you begin the descent along a very steep path that leads you to the River Beniardà, which you have to follow until you reach Confrides.
