La Vall d’Ebo
/
Pego
This itinerary starts from the cemetery of Tormos and gradually gains altitude, passing between the two peaks of the mountain range known as Serra Caval.
After about 45 minutes, the route reaches a well next to a ruined house, and further on there are several other ruined corrals surrounded by abandoned dryland farm plots from where it is possible to see the entire valley of Pego.
From this point, the path continues without slopes until it reaches a forest track that leads to the Pego-Ebo road.
Once walking in the direction of Ebo, take the forest track towards the Figuereta mountain shelter after 500 metres on the right. The route passes by the fountain known as Font d’en Gili and arrives at Ebo.
From Ebo, take the road which goes towards Alcalà. Turn right onto a road that can be seen after about 500 metres and then continue walking until the end of the asphalt. Once there, follow the sign which indicates a path on the left and then climb up to the intersection of the road that goes up to Xillibre. Following the path, further on there is an intersection from where it is necessary to take the path which leads towards L’Atzúbia.
Once in L’Atzúbia, take the paved path at the end of the street called Carrer de La Font. After the ravine, the path gradually gains altitude. It is advisable to start this ascent slowly. About 30 minutes later, the route passes by the fountain known as Font de Les Mallaes before reaching the plain called Pla d’Almiserà. Follow the road on the left until the path and at this point it is necessary to be very careful, as there are some beehives nearby. Almost at the end of this path, the route skirts several chalets until reaching a paved path that leads to El Calvari and the promenade known as Passeig de Cervantes, in Pego.
