This circular route runs through the shady area of the mountain range known as Carrascar de Parcent, passing through the mountain pass called Coll de Rates and next to the Font de la Foia spring, offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
Along the route and in tune with the name of the mountain range, you can see some Holm oaks, which were originally the predominant trees in this area.
The itinerary starts in Parcent from the street called Carrer de l'Era, near the cooperative. Take Camí dels Pous and walk along a dirt track until the beginning of the path. This path, called Camí de les Voltes, was used to transport raisins from Tàrbena to Dénia, where they were then loaded onto ships for export.
Go up along this path until you reach the mountain pass called Coll de Rates. Here, at the viewpoint, you can see some beautiful views of the valley.
Continue ascending towards a second viewpoint and then take the track that leads you to the summit. Upon reaching Tossal dels Diners, you can see both the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa regions, from the interior valleys (with Serra del Ferrer in the foreground, declared a protected landscape, together with Serra de Bèrnia) all the way to the coast on the other side.
Continue walking until you get to a forest hut and then take the path that you can see here. After passing next to Tossal de Polupí, you begin to descend, with a fairly steep start.
Soon you arrive at the well known as Pou de la Mina de Ferro and then you get to a little cave called Coveta dels Coloms. Further on is the spring known as Font de la Foia, from which water flows all year round. At this point, the descent towards Parcent begins.
